In a significant development, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Karnataka Police revealed in the state High Court that Bhavani Revanna, mother of former JDS MP Prajwal Revanna, stands accused of orchestrating the abduction of a sexual assault victim to thwart potential criminal complaints against her son.

SIT identified as mastermind

During proceedings on June 14 regarding Bhavani Revanna's anticipatory bail plea, the SIT identified her as the mastermind behind the abduction involving multiple victims of sexual assault. The High Court has since reserved its decision on the anticipatory bail plea but has granted interim protection against arrest, initially extended on June 7, while urging her cooperation with the ongoing investigation.

Bail denied to Revanna's mother

Earlier, on May 31, a special sessions court for elected representatives had denied Bhavani Revanna's anticipatory bail application, citing prima facie evidence linking her to the kidnapping of a sexual assault victim associated with the case against her son.

Key figure in abduction case

Special Public Prosecutor Ravi Varma Kumar informed the bench presided by Justice Krishna S Dixit, stating, "The investigation has established that Bhavani Revanna is the key figure who orchestrated the abduction in an attempt to prevent the victim from registering a complaint against her son."

The case continues to unfold as legal proceedings progress, underscoring the serious allegations against Bhavani Revanna and the ongoing efforts of the Karnataka Police SIT to uncover the truth behind the alleged criminal acts.
