New Delhi: A violent altercation erupted at the Bangalore Express Restaurant in Bhubaneswar, involving a group of six young men. The entire incident was recorded by the restaurant's CCTV cameras and has since gone viral on social media. According to the restaurant manager, the police were informed promptly, but jurisdictional confusion led to significant delays in their response. This lapse allowed the perpetrators to cause extensive damage and assault several customers.

Details of the incident

The altercation occurred around 7 PM on Sunday, when the restaurant was overcrowded. A group of individuals arrived and demanded immediate seating. When asked to wait, they became enraged and began vandalizing the restaurant. Despite the manager's swift notification to the police, the response was delayed as officers debated jurisdictional issues between two precincts.

The group did not only destroy property but also assaulted several patrons and even damaged a police barrier placed on the street. The restaurant manager noted that many customers sustained serious injuries during the melee.

CCTV footage reveals chaos

The CCTV footage clearly shows the attackers fighting over chairs and aggressively vandalizing the restaurant. The video highlights how the violent group not only caused significant damage but also physically assaulted customers who were present. The footage has been widely shared, showcasing the severity of the incident.

Restaurant suffers damage due to police dispute

Despite being informed in a timely manner, the police response was hindered by jurisdictional disputes between two local stations. Instead of addressing the incident, the police were embroiled in a disagreement over which precinct had authority over the area. By the time the jurisdictional issues were resolved, substantial damage had already been inflicted on the restaurant and customers were severely inconvenienced.
