In a significant move to honor the sacrifices of the nation's heroes, the Mann government has announced a financial assistance scheme for the families of martyred soldiers. Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann made the announcement, emphasizing the commitment to support those who have made the ultimate sacrifice while protecting the country's borders.

Financial assistance for families of martyrs

In a tweet, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann expressed gratitude and solidarity with the families of the fallen soldiers. He stated, "Our brave sons of Punjab sacrifice their lives to protect the country and Punjab and maintain peace. It is the responsibility of society to take care of them and their families." The Punjab Cabinet has decided to provide ₹1 crore as assistance to the families of each martyred soldier, underscoring the government's commitment to their welfare.

Enhanced rewards for brave soldiers

In addition to the financial aid for martyr families, the Mann government has also increased the prize money for brave soldiers who have been awarded for their valor. This enhancement of 40% reflects the government's dedication to recognizing and rewarding the courage and dedication of its armed forces.

The chief minister assured that legal action will be taken against the culprits.

"The family of Shubhkaran Singh, who got martyred during the farmer's movement on the Khanauri border, will be given financial assistance of Rs 1 crore by the Punjab government and a government job to his younger sister. Due legal action will be taken against culprits," CM Mann said in a post on X in Punjabi.

These decisions are part of the Mann government's broader initiative to ensure that the sacrifices made by the soldiers and their families do not go unnoticed. The government aims to create a supportive environment for the families who have lost loved ones in the line of duty.
