In a shocking incident from Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh, a police constable was caught harassing his wife through a fake Instagram ID. The constable, suspicious of his wife's character, created the account to send her obscene messages in an attempt to humiliate her. The incident came to light after the wife filed a police complaint, leading to an investigation and subsequent action against the accused husband.

Fake Instagram ID leads to harassment

The woman approached Hardoi's Cyber Police Station on June 21, 2024, reporting that she was receiving vulgar messages from an Instagram account under the name "Gaurav Kumar." The messages included inappropriate comments such as, "Bhabhi ji, you are very hot," and repeated attempts to flirt with her. Despite not responding to these messages, the harassment continued, forcing her to block the account. However, the perpetrator created another account to resume the harassment.

"I have no idea who this person is, and I have never replied to their messages," the woman stated in her complaint. She pleaded for help, expressing her distress over the ongoing situation.

Husband behind the harassment

During the investigation, police traced the Instagram account to Rakesh Kumar, a constable stationed at the Rae Bareli Police Line. Shockingly, Rakesh was found to be none other than the complainant’s husband. The woman revealed that she was already embroiled in a marital dispute with him and alleged that he deliberately sent vulgar messages to publicly humiliate her.

Previous allegations against the husband

This was not the first complaint filed against Rakesh Kumar. The woman had earlier lodged a case against him for dowry harassment. Following this latest revelation, a case has been registered under the directions of the Circle Officer, and further investigation is underway to ensure appropriate action against the accused constable.
