Uttar Pradesh: A 27-year-old unemployed engineer from Shahjahanpur, identified as Mayank Chandel, tragically ended his life in Noida's Sector-113. According to police reports, Mayank had been living in a live-in relationship with a woman for the past three years. A suicide note recovered from the scene alleged that constant taunts from his partner over his unemployment pushed him to take this drastic step.
Mayank was residing in a rented accommodation in Sarfabad, Noida, at the time of his death. On Friday, police received a call around 4 PM about a suicide. Upon reaching the scene, officers found Mayank hanging in his rented room on the third floor of Amar Pal Yadav’s property. The forensic team collected evidence, and the body was sent for post-mortem.
Inspector Krishna Gopal Sharma informed the media that the suicide note revealed Mayank was under immense mental stress due to repeated insults from his live-in partner. He cited unemployment as a significant factor contributing to his deteriorating mental health.
Mayank’s father, Girish Pal Singh Chandel, expressed his shock and sorrow, describing his son as a promising individual. "I never imagined he would take such a step," he said. He also lamented that his son sacrificed all relationships for one that ultimately failed him.
Mayank’s partner, originally from Banda district, had been working with a private company. The suicide note also suggested that she had formed a new relationship with another man after Mayank lost his job, which exacerbated his distress.
The police have begun an investigation based on the complaint filed by Mayank's mother to uncover further details about the circumstances leading to his death.
