New Delhi: A tragic road accident took place in Karnatakas Bengaluru where a speeding truck crushed an eight-month-pregnant woman. During this accident, the woman gave birth to a baby girl on the road itself. But unfortunately, both the newborn and her mother died within a few minutes. This incident took place in Nelamangala area, near Yedehalli on National Highway 4.More on incidentThe deceased woman has been identified as Sinchana (30). She was travelling on a scooter with her husband. Her husband works in a private company. On the day of the incident, the couple was returning home after visiting a temple in Shivganj. According to media reports, while they were on the national highway, a government bus suddenly applied brakes, forcing Sinchanas husband to stop the scooter. At this time, a sand-laden truck was coming fast from behind.The truck hit their scooter hard, causing both of them to fall. The woman fell on the road and came under the wheels of the truck. Soon after this horrific accident, Sinchana gave birth to a baby girl on the road itself. However, due to extreme injuries and circumstances, the baby girl died soon after birth. The woman also died a few minutes after the incident.Expected delivery was on August 17The local police reached the spot as soon as they got information about the incident. The truck driver was arrested and the truck was also seized. Sinchanas husband said that his wifes delivery date was fixed for 17 August. They had gone to the temple so that both of them could spend some time alone. But this accident destroyed his world.Superintendent of Police CK Baba visited the accident site and assessed the situation. Police said the place is a high-risk zone, where more than 90 fatal accidents have occurred in the last six months.
