In the midst of Bengaluru's ongoing water crisis, residents were observed lining up outside the RO water plant with empty cans, hoping to obtain the crucial water supply.
The struggle for access to drinking water persists in the city, aggravated by the depletion of groundwater and the drying up of over 3,000 borewells across Karnataka's capital, posing significant challenges for its populace.
Amid stringent measures implemented by the Karnataka government to address the water scarcity issue, many Bengaluru residents now rely on the RO water plant for their daily water needs. Expressing their predicament, a local resident stated, "For the last few days, we have been facing problems. We are fully dependent on the RO plant."
However, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah vehemently denied these allegations, labelling them as baseless. "BJP is alleging that water is being released to Tamil Nadu; it is a lie," he stated, emphasising that water cannot be released if there is a scarcity in Karnataka.
On the other hand, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar criticised the BJP for politicising the water crisis, emphasising that providing water to Bengaluru remains their top priority despite the challenges.
