New Delhi: A high-profile party billed as a "birthday celebration" turned into a drug bust early Sunday morning in Bengaluru. The Central Crime Branch (CCB) of the Karnataka Police raided a farmhouse near Electronic City after receiving a tip-off about a rave party.

Night of revelry turns sour: Drugs, luxury cars and high-profile guests

The party, titled "Sunset to Sunrise Victory," reportedly attracted over 100 guests, including celebrities like Telugu film actors, models, DJs, and techies, from Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Media reports speculated that actors Hema and Srikanth were present, but both have denied the claims.

The raid unearthed a different reality. Police seized drugs including MDMA (Ecstasy), cocaine, and marijuana, along with luxury cars like Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar, and Audi. An MLA Pass belonging to YSR Congress Party's Kakani Govardhana Reddy was found in one of the parked vehicles, raising questions about potential political connections.

Rave in guise of birthday bash

Preliminary investigations suggest the party, organized by a Hyderabad-based individual named Vasu, was a meticulously planned rave disguised as a birthday celebration. Sources estimate the extravagant event cost a staggering Rs. 50 lakh per day.

Arrests, investigations, lingering questions

Five people, including three alleged drug peddlers, were arrested. A case has been filed under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and IPC Section 268 (public nuisance) at the Electronic City Police Station. The investigation continues, with the police aiming to identify all attendees and potential links to the MLA.

This high-profile bust exposes a concerning trend of drug use and lavish parties among affluent circles in Bengaluru. As the investigation unfolds, questions remain about the extent of celebrity involvement and the possible connections to local politics.
