In one of the recent incidents, a resident of Bengaluru has shared his shocking experience of travelling in Olacabs auto. Taking it to his X handle, the user shared that the driver had abused him and threatened to pay him an extra amount.

The user mentioned that he had a horrible experience, “I had a terrible experience today with an @Olacabs auto. I booked a ride from Brookfield to Kormangala with a stop at Mahadevpura. The app quoted ₹ 292, but when I reached my destination, the driver demanded ₹ 455. He insisted the app was wrong and threatened to hold me until I paid the higher amount. He became aggressive, shouting and using abusive language.”

According to Kumar, he then called the police and recorded the incident. He said that the official spoke to the driver in Kannada and asked him to pay Rs 350 for the ride as the driver was poor. However, according to Kumar, the driver kept on threatening him in front of the officials. Kumar also alleged that the police also asked him to delete the recordings.

Terming the incident ‘deeply disappointing’, he said called the Ola support team very ineffective and also alleged that they did not take any action in the matter.

Here’s what Ola responded:

Responding to the incident, Old Support mentioned, "This is definitely not the experience we want our customers to have, Pawan. To help us get to the bottom of this issue at the earliest, please share the CRN number of the ride and your email ID via Direct Message.”

Meanwhile, the Bengaluru Police has also taken note of the matter and asked the user to share the contact details. Soon after, the driver was suspended from the services, after he accepted the mistake. Further, the cab company refunded him the extra money that Kumar paid to the driver.

Further in the post, he said, “Ola asked me to delete the post but I didn’t.”

Since being shared on the social media platform, the post has garnered more than one lakh views on the platform.
