New Delhi: A shocking incident has come to light from Bengaluru's Ramanagara district where a husband murdered his wife on Hoojugallu Hill. The woman identifies as Divya, a 32-year-old who was allegedly attacked by her estranged husband, Umesh, after a court hearing for their divorce. On Monday, the couple attended a court session at Magadi Court as part of their ongoing divorce proceedings. Afterward, Umesh convinced Divya to accompany him to Hoojugallu Hill, where he attacked and killed her while she was praying. He then disposed of her body in the nearby Cheilur forest area.

Reason for separation

The marriage between Divya and Umesh was strained due to persistent disagreements, primarily centered around Divya's desire to express herself through her appearance. Her choice to wear lipstick and get a tattoo, though seemingly minor, sparked heated debates and created differences that led couple to file for divorce. Eventually, this triggers Umesh to take his wife's life.

Police initiates manhunt

The Magadi Police have launched an investigation into the tragic incident and have filed a First Information Report (FIR) against five suspects connected to the case. To date, three of these suspects have been apprehended and are under interrogation. Authorities are actively pursuing Umesh and the remaining two suspects, who are still on the run.

Investigation underway

Magadi Police Station is intensifying efforts to locate and arrest Umesh and the other fugitives. The case has drawn significant attention, and the police are committed to resolving it swiftly to ensure justice for Divya.
