Bengaluru Viral Video: A shocking incident has sparked outrage in Karnataka's capital, Bengaluru. An elderly man was denied entry into a mall simply because he was wearing a dhoti. The incident has led to protests both on the streets and on social media. The incident occurred at GT Mall in Bengaluru when an elderly man and his son attempted to enter the premises.

Despite having valid movie tickets, the security guard at the gate refused them entry. The son repeatedly pleaded with the guards, but they were adamant that the mall's policy prohibited entry to anyone wearing a dhoti. After the incident, members of Kannada organizations took to the streets, staging protests outside GT Mall.

A video of the incident has gained attention on social media. In the video, the elderly man's son explains that they had traveled a long distance and did not have time to return home and change clothes. Despite his appeals, the mall supervisor insisted that the management had strict instructions not to allow anyone wearing a dhoti inside.

Political reactions

The incident has also drawn political attention. BJP spokesperson Shahzad Poonawala criticized the Congress government in Karnataka. In his post on microblogging platform X, "Under the protection of the Karnataka government, farmers are being abused and insulted for wearing a dhoti?"

Cultural and social implications

This incident has highlighted deeper cultural and social issues. The dhoti, a traditional garment worn by many in India, particularly by farmers, has now become a symbol of a broader struggle for respect and dignity. The protests reflect a larger sentiment of standing up against discrimination based on cultural attire.

Mall management under fire

The management of GT Mall is facing severe backlash for their policy. Netizens argue that such policies are discriminatory and disrespectful to traditional Indian attire.
