Revanna is accused of sexually assaulting over 200 women

Revanna is accused of sexually assaulting several women in Karnataka's Hassan district. Disturbingly, he allegedly recorded these acts on video. These explicit clips surfaced just days before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, causing a major scandal. The leaked videos, purportedly showing Revanna committing the assaults, have intensified public outrage and legal scrutiny.

Grandson of former PM HD Deve Gowda

The 33-year-old Revanna is the grandson of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda and the nephew of former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy. Despite his influential family background, the gravity of the allegations has led to swift actions against him. The Janata Dal Secular (JDS) suspended Revanna from the party following the revelations.

SIT is investigating the matter

The SIT, formed by the Congress-led Karnataka government, is meticulously probing the sex crime charges against Revanna. The investigation gained momentum after the discovery of pen drives containing thousands of explicit videos allegedly featuring Revanna. The SIT's task is to uncover the extent of Revanna's actions and ensure justice for the victims.

Revanna's arrest and the subsequent legal proceedings are likely to have significant political ramifications, especially in the lead-up to the upcoming elections. The case highlights issues of sexual violence and abuse of power, prompting calls for stringent legal actions and reforms.
