Another train accident occurred in West Bengal, as two goods trains collided at the Onda railway station in Bankura on Sunday morning. The collision occurred at around 4:00 AM.

The accident caused several bogies and an engine of the two goods trains to get derailed and suffer significant damage. As a result of the incident, the railway operations on the Kharagpur-Bankura-Adra line have been halted, and 14 trains have been cancelled and three others were diverted.

No casualties reported as investigation on train accident is underway

The accident has caused no casualties, as per initial reports. However, the cause of the accident is still unclear and will be investigated, according to Dibakar Majhi, safety officer at the Onda station. Preliminary information shows that one of the goods trains was standing on the tracks when it was hit by another from behind.

The latest train mishap comes after the recent tragedy in Balasore, Odisha, where 288 people lost their lives when three trains collided with each other.
