Haryana: A tragic incident unfolded in Gurugram when a 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped during a birthday celebration, leading to the arrest of two young men. The survivor, who is currently in Class 8, left her home on Sunday night with her friend Anshu to celebrate Avinash's birthday at a guest house. After Anshu departed, Avinash reportedly assaulted her. The girl returned home the following morning and informed her family, prompting them to contact the police.
Arrest of the Accused
The police acted swiftly upon receiving the complaint from the victim's family. Both Avinash and Anshu, aged around 20, were arrested on Wednesday. Avinash resides in Gandhi Nagar, Gurugram, while Anshu is from Shivji Park. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident to ensure justice for the survivor.
In a separate but equally disturbing case, a 12-year-old girl was gang-raped by the owner of a hookah bar and two accomplices in Gorakhpur on New Year's Eve. The victim was held captive at the establishment and reported her ordeal after returning home on January 2. Following her statement and medical examination, charges of gang rape were filed under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act against the suspects, who have since been arrested.
These incidents highlight alarming trends in sexual violence against minors in India. The police have intensified their efforts to address such crimes, conducting raids at locations linked to these cases. The community is urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to prevent further tragedies.
