New Delhi: In a recent address, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized the importance of national unity and urged citizens to avoid the pitfalls experienced by Bangladesh. Speaking at an event in Agra on Monday, Adityanath highlighted the need for solidarity to ensure India’s progress and security.

“Look at what is happening in Bangladesh. We must not repeat those mistakes here. If we remain divided, we will suffer. If we stay united, we will prosper and achieve greatness,” Adityanath stated. His comments came in light of the political upheaval in Bangladesh, which has seen significant unrest and changes in leadership.

The Chief Minister's remarks drew sharp criticism from opposition leaders, particularly Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav. During a press interaction on Janmashtami, Yadav questioned Adityanath’s focus on Bangladesh, suggesting that such matters should be handled by the central government rather than state leaders.

“He (Adityanath) aspires to be the Prime Minister but should refrain from making comments on foreign affairs that are under the purview of New Delhi. This is not a new occurrence; he has done this before. I hope those in Delhi will advise him against interfering in matters that should be decided by the central government,” Yadav remarked.
