Bareilly: Drunk man physically violates 85-year-old woman, murders her after INHUMAN act

Crime News: A horrifying crime has surfaced in Uttar Pradesh's Bareilly, where an 85-year-old woman was brutally raped and murdered. The accused, Rakesh, is the brother of a former councilor. Upon receiving information about the incident, the police and forensic team, arrived at the scene to investigate. The accused was arrested, and interrogation is underway.

How did it happen?

This dreadful event took place in the Senthal area. The victim, an 85-year-old woman, lived alone in her house. She had lost her husband and sons, and her brother's house was nearby. Due to her illness, she was bedridden and lying on a cot on Monday afternoon. During this time, Rakesh, allegedly in a drunken state, forcibly entered her house and committed the heinous act of raping the old woman. She died shortly after the assault.

The crime came to light when the old woman's daughter-in-law came to check on her. Finding the door locked from the inside, she accessed the house through the terrace. There, she found that Rakesh was sitting naked. She started shouting for help. 

Accused tried to flee

Meanwhile, Rakesh wrapped himself in a sheet and attempted to flee from the scene. However, he was captured by the locals. The police were immediately informed, and CO Harsh Modi, along with police station in-charge Jagat Singh, arrived at the scene. A forensic team conducted an investigation, and the body was subsequently sent for a post-mortem examination.

Investigation underway

A case of rape and murder has been officially registered against him based on the complaint filed by the old woman's sister-in-law. The forensic team is conducting a detailed investigation to gather all necessary evidence.
