Baramulla Court declares terror handler from Jammu and Kashmir as proclaimed offender

In a significant development, Hassan Reshi, a declared terror handler, has been marked as a proclaimed offender by the court of the first additional sessions judge in Baramulla. This declaration comes following an application filed by the Baramulla Police under the stringent EMICO Act.

Accusations under these sections 

According to officials, Gh Hassan Reshi, son of Assadullah Reshi and a resident of Baderkoot, stands accused in case FIR no: 4/2008 under sections 2/3 of the EMICO Act, along with sections 120B and 121 of PS Tangmarg. The police highlighted that Reshi is currently in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), actively associated with a terrorist outfit.

Baramulla court gave verdict 

"Proclamation orders under Section 87 of the CrPC have been secured from the court against the terror handler. These orders have been prominently displayed at their residences and public places as directed by the Hon’ble Court, with a stipulated time frame of one month for them to present themselves before the Court of Law. Failure to comply will initiate property attachment proceedings under Section 88 of the CrPC," stated the police.

Property attachments of two other terror handlers 

Earlier this year, on May 28, the Jammu and Kashmir Police undertook property attachments of two other terror handlers in Baramulla. The properties, totaling 3 Kanals and 19 Marlas in Zamboor Pattan and Kamalkote Uri, belong to Jalal Din, son of Raj Mohd, and Mohd Saki, son of Mastana Bhatti, respectively. Both individuals are reported to be based in Pakistan.

These actions were executed under Section 83 of the Criminal Procedure Code, linked to a case involving violations under Sections 7 and 25 of the Indian Arms Act and 4(III) of the TADA Act.
