New Delhi: Despite ongoing drone surveillance and search efforts, authorities in Bahraich have yet to capture the two remaining wolves responsible for recent attacks. According to forest guard Rishipal, “Nothing was found during the day’s operations, even after drones were flying continuously.” Search teams speculate that the wolves may have fled the area out of fear.
A major operation is underway to locate the wolves, with drone footage revealing the intensified efforts of the forest department. Forest officials previously identified one of the wolves as a lone attacker targeting humans. Forest Department General Manager Sanjay Pathak said, "We are working rigorously with our team with 24-hour monitoring of the affected areas." He noted that sheep, instead of goats, are now being used near the wolves' habitat to change their prey preference and reduce the risk to humans.
The search is further complicated by misinformation, as false wolf sightings have diverted resources. Pathak warned that stricter action might be taken against those spreading rumors if the situation does not improve. Snap cameras have been installed around the wolves' habitat to assist in tracking.

In response to the threat, the Bahraich district administration has established temporary shelters for villagers. The Panchayat Bhawan in Chandpaiya village has been converted into a shelter, where villagers are receiving essential services, including drinking water and toilets.
So far, four wolves have been captured, with drone surveillance continuing over large agricultural areas where wolves were previously sighted.
