A chilling video has surfaced from Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, capturing the brutal killing of Ram Gopal Mishra. The footage shows the moment Mishra lifts a green flag, only to be fatally shot immediately afterward. The violent incident took place in Mahsi, Bahraich, and the last video of Mishra from Maharajganj shows him collapsing after being shot. The situation escalated when Mishra was further brutalised after the initial attack. The video, which has gone viral on social media, shows that Mishra was shot while attempting to raise a flag on a rooftop.

Internet services restored after days of violence

Three days after the violent clashes in Bahraich, internet services were restored late Wednesday night at 12 a.m. The services had been suspended due to the unrest following the violence.

The violence erupted during the immersion of a Durga idol when two groups clashed over playing loud music on a DJ. The situation escalated quickly, leading to arson, stone-pelting, and ultimately gunfire. During the chaos, Ram Gopal Mishra, who was raising a saffron flag on a rooftop, was shot. After being shot, he fell to the ground and was dragged inside the house, where he faced further brutality. He was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries on the way.

Uproar following Mishra’s death

The aftermath of Ram Gopal’s death saw massive protests, with his family and others joining in to demand justice. The unrest worsened as rioters set fire to houses, showrooms, and vehicles. It took the intervention of the Special Task Force (STF) Chief, who had to wield a pistol to disperse the crowd, to bring the situation under control. Though peace has been somewhat restored, a heavy police presence remains in the area. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has assured strict action against those responsible.
