Maharashtra News: In a significant development in the Baba Siddique murder case, Mumbai Polices crime branch arrested a scrap dealer from Navi Mumbai on Sunday. The arrested man, Bhagwat Singh Om Singh, a native of Udaipur, Rajasthan, allegedly supplied the weapon used by the assailants to murder the NCP leader on October 12. Singh, 32, was produced before a local court and remanded to police custody until October 26.Ten suspects now in custodyWith Singhs arrest, the total number of suspects in custody has reached 10. The two main shooters arrested earlier were Gurmail Baljit Singh, 23, and Dharmaraj Rajesh Kashyap, 19. Three attackers were responsible for the shooting that took place outside Baba Siddiques son, Zeeshan Siddiques, office. However, the primary shooter, Shivkumar Gautam, and two others involved in the murder conspiracy remain at large.Lawrence Bishnoi gang claims responsibilityThe Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for the murder, escalating the intensity of the investigation. Five other individuals arrested last week were found to have provided logistical support to the killers. The group, led by Nitin Gautam Sapre, had conducted reconnaissance of Siddiques office and residence prior to the attack, taking pictures and making videos of the premises.During police interrogation, it was revealed that Sapres group initially demanded ₹50 lakh from a mediator to carry out the murder, but the deal fell through, leading the group to abandon the contract. Despite this, the gang ultimately proceeded with the attack, ending in the high-profile killing of Baba Siddique.
