Baba Bageshwar’s Dhirendra Shastri cancels July 4 event after Hathras stampede, makes THIS appeal

Keeping the safety and security of people in mind, Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri of Bageshwar Dham in Chhatarpur district has cancelled the event that was scheduled for his birthday, on July 4. Baba himself shared the information on his social media handle, through a video message.

New Delhi: The horrific stampede in Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras has created a stir after the death of more than 121 people due to the stampede during the Satsang of guru Bhole Baba. According to the officials, the death toll in the mishap may increase further. 

Meanwhile, keeping the safety and security of people in mind, Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri of Bageshwar Dham in Chhatarpur district has also become cautious after Hathras accident, and has cancelled the event that was scheduled for his birthday, on July 4. Baba himself shared the information on his social media handle, through a video message.

Pithadhishwar Pandit Dhirendra Shastri said in a video released on social media, “On July 4, one year of my life will be reduced. Preparations for the wonderful Anand Utsav are going on in a very comprehensive manner. But through this video, we want to make a request and prayer. He further said that the people associated with Bageshwar Dham, who are coming from far and wide to celebrate the 4th of July with devotion, are our dear ones. If you accept our one request, it will be greatly appreciated.” 

He further appealed that all devotees should see Balaji on their mobile and sitting at their homes and celebrate Janmotsav. He added, "A grand event will be organised on Guru Purnima. We are preparing for it on a large scale. In which all the people will be invited and the program will be held in 35 acres of area."

Baba Bageshwar cancels programs

The announcement was made through his official handle, which says, “Due to a huge crowd, Pujya Sarkar has requested all of you to worship Balaji Sarkar from home for a few days… To avoid any untoward incident, Pujya Sarkar has alerted all the people, today a huge crowd had come to the Dham…”

'Recite Hanuman Chalisa and plant trees...'

Pandit Dhirendra Shastri appealed, "Keeping in mind the sense of safety of you people, celebrate the festival from wherever you are. Celebrate the festival by sitting at home and by reciting Hanuman Chalisa and planting trees. We will wait for you all for the event that is expected on July 21, on the occasion of Guru Purnima.”
