Maharishi Valmiki Airport Ayodhya: In a significant announcement, sources revealed that Ayodhya's upcoming airport will be named 'Maharishi Valmiki International Airport Ayodhya Dham.' Scheduled to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 30, the airport pays tribute to the revered sage poet Maharishi Valmiki.

Key Features of the Ayodhya Airport

The first phase of the state-of-the-art airport has been developed at a cost exceeding Rs 1,450 crore. With a terminal building covering 6500 sqm, capable of serving approximately 10 lakh passengers annually, the airport boasts a facade inspired by the architecture of the upcoming Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. The interiors are adorned with local art, paintings, and murals depicting the life of Bhagwan Shri Ram.

Sustainability Initiatives

The terminal building incorporates various sustainability features, including an insulated roofing system, LED lighting, rainwater harvesting, fountains, water treatment plant, sewage treatment plant, and a solar power plant. These features aim to achieve GRIHA - 5-star ratings, reflecting a commitment to environmental responsibility.

Enhanced Connectivity for Growth

The inauguration of the Ayodhya airport is expected to enhance connectivity in the region, fostering growth in tourism, business activities, and employment opportunities. The initiative aligns with the broader vision of developing infrastructure to facilitate socio-economic progress.

PM Modi's Agenda in Ayodhya

During his visit, PM Modi will not only inaugurate the airport but will also lay the foundation stone for a greenfield township in Ayodhya, a project valued at over Rs 2180 crore. Additionally, the Prime Minister will flag off two new Amrit Bharat trains and six Vande Bharat trains, contributing to the region's overall development.

Tribute to Maharishi Valmiki

The decision to name the airport after Maharishi Valmiki holds cultural significance, as he is credited with composing the epic Ramayana. This symbolic gesture reflects the deep cultural roots and historical importance associated with Ayodhya.
