In a shocking incident from Greater Noida's Knowledge Park Kotwali area, a man has been arrested for murdering his wife over suspected infidelity. The gruesome crime, which took place in Badouli village, was solved within 24 hours by the Noida police, who swiftly apprehended the accused husband.

The murder and initial allegations

According to police reports, Chunni Lal, a resident of Visanpur Manpur village in Aligarh, was living with his wife, Shimla, in a rented house in Badouli village. On Saturday morning, Chunni Lal informed the police that his wife had been murdered by three individuals. Upon receiving the call, the police arrived at the scene, seized the woman's body, and sent it for post-mortem examination. They then initiated a thorough investigation.

The husband's confession

As part of their investigation, the police detained Chunni Lal, the husband, for questioning. Initially, he maintained his innocence, but under intense interrogation, he confessed to the crime. The accused revealed that he suspected his wife of having an illicit affair with a man from her village. Despite his repeated pleas for her to end the affair, Shimla refused to comply.

The couple had an argument on Friday night, which escalated into violence. In a fit of rage, Chunni Lal strangled his wife, ending her life. After committing the murder, he left for work to create an alibi. The following morning, he called the police and misled both them and the family by reporting the crime as a murder by unknown assailants.

Swift police action

According to ADC Ashok Kumar, the accused himself dialed the emergency number 112 on Saturday morning to report the crime. Thanks to the timely investigation and swift police work, the case was solved within just 24 hours, leading to Chunni Lal’s arrest.
