A CNG-powered autorickshaw burst into flames after it met with an accident in Kathihur in Kerala killing the two travellers inside, the police said on Friday.
The two deceased have been identified as Driver Abhilash (37) and his friend Shaijesh (36) who were charred to death in the accident that took place around 8.30 pm. The incident unfolded when the auto rickshaw collided with a private bus and overturned before it into flames, they said.
According to the witnesses of the accident, the cylinder had engulfed the autorickshaw before they could intervene to help.
The locals were unable to approach the vehicle due to the fire,” the police said.
The Fire Force later doused the flames and the police shifted the bodies to a nearby hospital.
