As the results of assembly elections neared completion on Sunday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that he accepted the people's mandate after the party's disappointing performance in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan.

The Congress leader took to microblogging platform X and wrote, "We humbly accept the mandate of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan - the battle of ideology will continue. I am very thankful to the people of Telangana - we will definitely fulfill the promise of making Prajalu Telangana. Heartfelt thanks to all the workers for their hard work and support."

Congress losses three hindi spekaing states

While Congress lost three Hindi-speaking states to BJP, the saffron party managed to retain power in Madhya Pradesh. On the other hand, Congress uprooted BRS from power was the only consolation for the grand old party.

Priyanka Gandhai's response

Meanwhile, General Secretary of Indian National Congress, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra posted on platform X, "The people of Telangana have created history and given the mandate in favor of the Congress Party. This is the victory of the people of Telangana. This is the victory of the people of the state and every worker of the Congress Party."

The congress leader said that the people of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh have assigned the role of opposition to the Congress Party and the public's decision is on the horizon.
