Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met with Union Minister for Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw at Rail Bhawan in New Delhi on Monday. The meeting was focused on enhancing and modernising rail infrastructure within the state of Assam.
During the meeting, both leaders discussed a comprehensive roadmap for improving Assam's rail network. This included initiatives aimed at modernisation, expansion, and overall efficiency.
Additionally, Himanta Biswa Sarma also offered insights on the recently released Assam Semiconductor Policy.
Notably, the Assam government launched a semiconductor policy earlier this year, which aims to attract investments and promote the growth of the semiconductor industry within the state.
Chief Minister Sarma took to platform X (formerly Twitter), stating: "Had an excellent discussion with Hon'ble Union Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw ji regarding the roadmap to enhance and modernize rail infrastructure in Assam. His insights on our newly released Semiconductor Policy were immensely valuable."
