New Delhi: In a significant move aimed at enhancing the welfare of state employees, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced a new insurance policy. The initiative, shared by the Chief Minister’s Office, promises comprehensive coverage, offering a range of benefits for government employees across the state.

Disability coverage breakdown

The newly announced scheme includes Rs 10 lakhs as life insurance coverage for state government employees. In addition to this, the policy offers substantial coverage for personal accidents and disability. Employees will be eligible for Rs 1 crore in case of accidental death and another Rs 1 crore in the event of total disability. Partial disability will also be covered under this policy, with employees entitled to Rs 80 lakhs in compensation.
