UP Government Shakes Up Administration: Key IAS Officers Reassigned in Surprise Late-Night Move

The Uttar Pradesh government transferred 33 IAS officers late night in a major administrative reshuffle. In this reshuffle, new responsibilities have been assigned to DMs, Divisional Commissioners, Municipal Commissioners, Principal Secretaries and Special Secretary level officers of many districts.

National News: The Uttar Pradesh government has transferred 33 IAS officers late in the night, causing a major reshuffle in the state's administrative structure. Under this change, new responsibilities have been given to DM, Divisional Commissioner, Municipal Commissioner, Principal Secretary and Special Secretary level officers of many districts. The special thing is that changes have also been made in important postings related to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's parliamentary constituency Varanasi and the state capital Lucknow.

New leadership in Varanasi

Kaushal Raj Sharma who was varanasi commissioner has been appointed as Secretary to the Chief Minister. At the same time, S. Rajalingam, who was the first DM of Varanasi, has now been promoted to the Commissioner of Varanasi. Satindra Kumar, who was the special secretary of the Chief Minister, will now work as the new District Magistrate of Varanasi.

Big change in information department

Shishir, who was the director of the Department of Information and Culture, has been removed and made him special secretary of MSME and Export Promotion Department. In his place, Bhadohi's DM Vishal Singh has been given the responsibility of information department.

DM of 12 districts changed

The government has transferred DMs of 12 districts, including the names of some important districts:

  • Hapur: Abhishek Pandey
  • Bareilly: Avinash Singh (East DM of Ambedkarnagar)
  • Azamgarh: Ravindra Kumar-2 (Transfer from Bareilly)
  • Ambedkaranagar: Anupam Shukla
  • Ghazipur: Avinash Kumar (East DM of Jhansi)
  • Jhansi: Mridul Chaudhary (East DM of Mahoba)
  • Mahoba: Ghazal Bhardwaj
  • Kushinagar: Mahendra Singh
  • Sant Kabir Nagar: Alok Kumar

Changes in Lucknow MC

Lucknow Municipal Corporation Commissioner Indrajit Singh has been removed and appointed as Special Secretary in the Department of Energy. In his place, Prayagraj's CDO Gaurav Kumar has been given the responsibility of Lucknow Municipal Corporation Commissioner.

Reshuffle at principal secretary level

Amit Gupta has been appointed as Principal Secretary of Transport Department. He was already the Principal Secretary of Stamp and Registration Department, and now he will have additional charge of the Transport Department.

Changes at CDO level also

  • Gorakhpur: Eternal Tripurari has been appointed as the new CDO
  • Prayagraj: Harshika Singh has been appointed as CDO
  • Meerut Development Authority: Sanjay Kumar Meena has been transferred from Gorakhpur
  • Shravasti: Shahid Ahmed has been appointed as CDO

New posting in Chief Minister's Office and Health Department

  • Former DM of kushinagar Vishal Bhardwaj has been appointed as Special Secretary to the Chief Minister.
  • Navneet Singh Chahal (former DM, Azamgarh) has been given the responsibility of Special Secretary of the Chief Minister's Office.
  • Aryaka Akhori (former DM, Ghazipur) has been appointed as Special Secretary of Health Department.
  • Other important appointments
  • Ujjwal Kumar: MD of Medical Supply Corporation
  • Pulkit Khare: Director of Skill Development Mission
  • Shailesh Kumar: New DM, Bhadohi
  • Anubhav Singh: Vice President of Moradabad Development Authority
  • Jagdish: Secretary of Home Department

Changes in Police department also

Some important changes have also been made in the police department:

  • DK Thakur has been sent to SSF
  • Sanjay Gupta has been appointed as Home Secretary, he was earlier in ADG Prayagraj Zone
  • ADG of Meerut Zone has also been replaced (the name has not yet been made public)

This major administrative reshuffle is being considered as important steps towards further improvement of the state government's efficiency and development works.
