Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, will meet MK Stalin, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu. The purpose of the conference is to gather opposition to the Centre’s ordinance governing control of administrative services in the Indian capital.

Taking it to Twitter, the Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday said, “Will be meeting Tamil Nadu CM Thiru @mkstalin in Chennai tomorrow (1st June) to seek DMK’s support against Centre’s unconstitutional-undemocratic ‘Anti-Delhi’ Ordinance.”

Notably, on May 23, Kejriwal began a cross-country tour to solicit opposition party support against the Ordinance.

On June 2, Delhi is anticipated to meet with the chief minister of Jharkhand, according to sources. “On June 2, I will meet the chief minister of Jharkhand Hemant Soren ji in Ranchi. Will seek their support against the ordinance passed by the Modi government against the people of Delhi,” he said in a subsequent tweet.

The chief minister of Delhi has already met with Mamata Banerjee of West Bengal, Uddhav Thackeray of Maharashtra, Sharad Pawar of the National Congress Party (NCP), and Nitish Kumar and Tejashwi Yadav of Bihar.

Notably, on May 19, the Union government introduced an ordinance to announce guidelines for the National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD) administration governing transfers, postings, vigilance, and other incidental matters.

The move to get the ordinance was taken to amend the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi Act, 1991 and it circumvents the Supreme Court judgement in the Centre vs Delhi case.
