Arvind Kejriwal Arrest: Social activist Anna Hazare expressed disappointment on Friday (March 22) over Arvind Kejriwal's involvement in "making liquor policies" and linked the arrest of the Delhi Chief Minister to his own actions, stating, "I am very upset that Arvind Kejriwal, who used to work with me, raise his voice against liquor, is now making liquor policies.

"His arrest is because of his own deeds. But what will he do? Nothing works in front of power. The arrest has been made, now whatever will happen as per law will happen."

Anna Hazare's highlighted a historical connection between himself and Arvind Kejriwal. Kejriwal was a prominent figure in the anti-corruption movement led by Hazare in 2011, primarily targeting the alleged corruption within the Congress-led government.

Kejriwal's subsequent transition into politics saw him establish the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in 2012, eventually leading to his role as the Chief Minister of Delhi.

Kejriwal withdraws plea in SC

In a significant turn of events, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal opted to withdraw his petition from the Supreme Court challenging his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate concerning a money laundering case linked to an excise policy.

During the court proceedings, senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, representing Kejriwal, conveyed to the bench that the Delhi Chief Minister has chosen to retract the petition. Singhvi underscored the necessity of this withdrawal due to its potential conflict with Kejriwal's ongoing remand proceedings.
