Arvind Kejriwal Arrest: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) responded strongly on Saturday morning to the Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) statement that Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal would govern from jail, asserting that only "gangs" operate from inside prison walls.

BJP MP Manoj Tiwari alleged that residents of Delhi were rejoicing and sharing sweets in response to Arvind Kejriwal's arrest, accusing the AAP leader of plundering the national capital.

"He has dedicated himself to plunging Delhi into despair. The people of Delhi are highly displeased with him, which is why sweets were distributed following his arrest. His administration has not accomplished anything for Delhi; instead, they have engaged in plundering and lining their pockets. Kejriwal has robbed Delhi," Tiwari stated.

Arvind Kejriwal was apprehended by the Enforcement Directorate on Thursday night in connection with the liquor policy case, becoming the first incumbent chief minister to be incarcerated. Despite AAP's declaration on Friday that Arvind Kejriwal would retain his role as Delhi's chief minister and operate the government from jail, the BJP has demanded his resignation on ethical grounds.

"Those proclaiming they will govern from jail should remember that jails house gangs, not governments," remarked Manoj Tiwari. In contrast, AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj asserted that his party desires Arvind Kejriwal to persist in his position, stating that Kejriwal will act according to public sentiment, as he has always done.

Responding to these developments, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra asserted that Arvind Kejriwal's arrest was a consequence of his corruption. "Corruption has reached its zenith. When corruption reaches such heights, repercussions are inevitable," Patra stated. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh countered, alleging that the BJP is apprehensive of the INDIA bloc before the Lok Sabha elections and describing the arrests of Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren and Delhi Chief Minister as assaults on democracy.
