Govt doctor clashes with MP: A surprising incident from Mau, Uttar Pradesh, has surfaced where a government doctor clashed with a local Member of Parliament (MP) during a surprise inspection. MP Rajeev Rai, who represents the Ghosi constituency, visited the district hospital following numerous complaints about medical services. He was accompanied by Chief Medical Superintendent Dr. Dhananjay Kumar Singh. During the inspection of the men’s hospital wing, MP Rai interacted with the doctors to understand their challenges.

At around 12:50 p.m., MP Rai entered Dr. Saurabh Tripathi’s cabin and questioned him about his duty hours. When asked why he arrived late for his shift, which started at 8 a.m., Dr. Tripathi responded evasively and instead engaged in a heated exchange with the MP. MP Rai asked how Dr. Tripathi had arrived at 12:30 p.m. when over 100 patients were still waiting to be seen. Rather than providing a direct response, the doctor challenged the MP’s authority, leading to a verbal confrontation. Dr. Tripathi even suggested that the MP should "get his facts straight."

Four doctors found absent

During the inspection, it was revealed that four doctors were absent from their duties. Additionally, several middlemen allegedly involved in corrupt practices by facilitating patient appointments in exchange for bribes were identified. The Chief Medical Superintendent promised action would be taken against the absentees and middlemen.

A video of the entire altercation between MP Rai and Dr. Tripathi has since gone viral on social media, sparking public outrage and calls for disciplinary action against the doctor. MP Rai criticised the doctor’s behaviour, stating he had never encountered such conduct before and described Dr. Tripathi as a "threat to public safety."
