Another shocker from Manipur; 2 more women raped on May 4: Sources

Just after two days before a complaint was filed in connection with the heinous crime of two Manipuri women being stripped and paraded in Manipur, another FIR got registered in the same police station in connection with the abduction, rape, and murder of two more Kuki women.

According to the sources, in this case, also it took almost a month to shift the FIR to the relevant police station in Imphal.

The FIR filed by the father of the victim said that the two women who were allegedly raped and killed were siblings from Imphal who worked as caretakers in the city. The women aged, 21 and 24, were living in a rented house when the mob entered their room and raped them before killing them.

The father of the deceased also said that the incident happened on May 4, the second day of ethnic clashes that have killed more than 150 people and displaced thousands of others.

According to police, no arrest has been made in this case so far and officials also did not comment on the status of the investigation.

Notably, a zero FIR can be filed at any police station regardless of whether the offence was committed under its jurisdiction. Many such FIRs have been filed in Manipur during the violence.
