Another loss for Congress, as Vibhakar Shastri, grandson of ex-PM Lal Bahadur Shastri joins BJP

Continuing the party's recent round of expulsions, Vibhakar Shastri submitted his resignation from the Congress on Wednesday.

Vibhakar Shastri, grandson of former PM Lal Bahadur Shastri, joined BJP in the presence of Uttar Pradesh Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak. Shastri resigned from Congress today.

Before Shashtri, Ashok Chavan, a former Maharashtra chief minister, resigned from the Congress, days after Milind Deora and Baba Siddiqui parted ways with the party.
