Amaravathi: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Nara Chandrababu Naidu emphasised the pivotal role of the 2024 Assembly Elections in shaping the future of Andhra Pradesh, characterising it as a battle between the people and a perceived dictator, Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Chandrababu Naidu addressed the press at the TDP headquarters, stating that the upcoming polls should not merely be about individual victories but a triumph for the entire state. He accused Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy of reshuffling candidates due to the fear of losing power.
Expressing concern over the impact of Cyclone Michaung on the state, particularly the agricultural sector, Naidu criticised the government's alleged negligence. He contended that preventive measures could have mitigated the damage caused to standing crops across 22 lakh acres in 15 districts.
Chandrababu Naidu underscored the importance of maintaining projects like Pattiseema, criticising the current government for neglecting them. He pointed out the damage to the Annamayya Project and accuseed the government of disregarding the significance of irrigation and farming sectors.
The former chief minister raised concerns about the plight of farmers affected by floods and drought, criticising the government for neglecting both irrigation and farming. He questioned the delay in assessing cyclone damage and providing compensation details, urging the government to act responsibly.
Chandrababu Naidu highlighted his appeal to declare the cyclone a national calamity, seeking Central assistance to aid affected farmers. He criticised the government for allegedly ignoring such demands and emphasised the importance of crop insurance, asserting that the state has neglected this aspect for four years.
Affirming TDP's commitment to farmers and their welfare, Naidu pledged support to Anganwadis on an agitational path. He envisioned a farmer's welfare government after the elections, promising justice to the farming community.
Chandrababu Naidu observed the prevailing anti-incumbency sentiments, stating that the upcoming elections represent a historic moment. He predicted a significant transformation in people's attitudes and asserts that the TDP will select candidates based on public opinion.
Closing his statement, Naidu appealed to the people to observe developments closely, characterising the elections as a decisive moment for the state's future. He called for collective efforts to safeguard Andhra Pradesh from perceived damaging forces.
As the political landscape evolves in Andhra Pradesh, the TDP leader positioned the upcoming elections as a crucial juncture determining the trajectory of the state's destiny.
