Friday morning witnessed a major fire breaking out near the Govindaraja temple in Andhra Pradeshs Tirupati. As per the reports, the fire broke out at a shop named Lavanya Photo Frames which is located near the temple. It was consecrated in 1130 AD by Sri Vaishnavaite, Saint Ramanujacharya. It is believed that Sri Govindaraja Swamy was the brother of Lord Balaji. The presiding deity of the temple is a Sayanamurthi (the Lord in a sleeping posture).
