The encounter which began on Wednesday in Jammu & Kashmir’s Anantnag has taken one more life. A soldier died of his injuries after the fresh attacks on Friday. Before this, two Army officers – a Colonel and Major – and a senior police officer were killed in the gunbattle with terrorists on Wednesday.

According to the information, security forces have been conducting search operation in Kokernag forest area in Anantnag to nab the terrorists. It has been nearly 48 hours since the operation began on Wednesday, with deaths of 4 army personnel officials so far.

Colonel Manpreet Singh, Major Aashish, and DSP Humayun Bhat are among the four officials killed. However, the identity of the fourth soldier who died on Friday has not yet been revealed yet.

The ongoing gunfight between a combined team of security personnel from the Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police and terrorists in the Kokernag area of the Anantnag district entered the third straight day, with drones and quadcopters being pressed into service on Friday to locate and neutralise the gunmen.
