The Anantnag encounter has taken lives of three army personnels on Wednesday and another one on Friday in the fresh attacks in Jammu & Kashmirs Anantnag.Colonel Singh was one of three army officials killed in a battle with terrorists in Kashmirs Anantnag on Wednesday. The two appeared clueless of the tragedy that had befallen the family as they stood side by side, mimicking the salute. Manpreet Singhs wife, sister, mother, and other family members were inconsolable.Colonel Manpreet Singh, 41, was commanding officer of the 19 Rashtriya Rifles (19 RR) and a recipient of the prestigious Sena Medal (Gallantry).Three personnel, including the colonel, a major, and a deputy superintendent of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, were killed in the gunfight with terrorists in the higher reaches of the Kokorenag area in the valley on Wednesday.A large number of people gathered at Colonels village to pay him tribute.
