Crime News: In a shocking and brutal act of violence, a newly married woman was killed by her husband in Baikheda village, Amroha, Uttar Pradesh. The victim, identified as Meena, was murdered by her husband, Sundar, who had been relentlessly demanding a TVS Apache motorcycle and Rs 3 lakh in dowry. This tragic event has stirred outrage and sorrow within the local community, highlighting the grave issue of dowry-related violence.
Meena, who had been married to Sundar for two years, endured constant harassment and abuse due to her husband’s dowry demands. Despite repeated pleas for help, Meena's situation deteriorated. Her father revealed that Meena had shared her suffering and her husband’s relentless pressure for additional dowry. The abuse escalated despite her attempts to seek support.
For the past month, Meena had been staying at her father’s home in Soharka following Rakshabandhan. Sundar frequently visited, presenting a false image of normalcy by having meals with Meena’s family. Nonetheless, the couple’s relationship remained strained due to Sundar’s unrelenting demands.

On the fateful night, Sundar visited Meena's parental home, ostensibly to take her back to their marital residence. The night quickly turned violent when Sundar confronted Meena over the dowry demands. Unable to meet his demands, Meena faced Sundar’s wrath. Sundar brutally assaulted Meena with sticks and subsequently strangled her to death.
After committing this heinous crime, Sundar fled the scene, leaving behind a devastated family. The chilling discovery of Meena’s body was made by local residents, who immediately alerted the police.
Following the murder, Meena’s family rushed to the police station, demanding justice for their lost daughter. Her father, Vijay Khadak Banshi, has lodged a formal complaint against Sundar and several members of his family, including his mother, sister, and four others, for their involvement in the crime.
The police have initiated a case based on the family’s complaint. A senior official confirmed that Meena’s body has been sent for a post-mortem examination. Authorities are conducting an extensive manhunt to apprehend Sundar and his accomplices, seeking to bring justice to Meena and her grieving family.
