Amit Shah fires back at Congress on Prajwal Revanna adult tapes row

The statement from union minister Amit Shah has come after Prajwal Revanna adult tapes of sexually assaulting women surfaced on social media.

Union Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday gave his first response in Prajwal Revanna adult tapes case. He attacked Congress and said why they have not taken any action regarding the adult videos of the grandson of former Prime Minister Prajwal Revanna assaulting several women.

Shah also lashed out at Congress for doctored video on him, saying that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) supports reservation for Schedule Caste (SC), Schedule Tribes (ST) and Other Backward Classes (OBC). 

While addressing media on Tuesday, Amit Shah said, "BJP's stand is clear that we stand with the 'Matr Shakti' of the country. I want to ask Congress, whose government is there? The government is of Congress Party. Why they have not taken any action till now? We do not have to take action on this as this is a law and order issue of the state, state government has to take action on it...We are in favor of the investigation and our partner JD(S) has also announced to take action against it. Today there is a meeting of their core committee and steps will be taken..."

The BJP is the ally of JD(S) in Karnataka.

It is to be noted that statement from the union minister has come after Prajwal Revanna, the MP from Karnataka's Hassan and the grandson of former prime minister HD Deve Gowda was found accused of sexually abusing several women. Hundreds of sexually explicit videos got circulated on the constituency. 

Meanwhile, the state government has formed SIT to probe the case against Revanna.

Congress trying to destroy his family image: HD Kumaraswamy

Janata Dal (Secular) and former Chief Minister of Karnataka, HD Kumaraswamy alleged that Congress party is manipulating with the facts and trying to demolish the image of his family amid the controversy over the 'obscene' video case against his nephew and Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna.

He further said more information will be provided after Core Committee meeting of the JD(S).
