New Delhi: The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has decided to postpone the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) originally scheduled to take place between June 26 and 28, citing 'unavoidable circumstances'. In an official notification, the board assured that a revised date for the examination would be announced in due course.

Bihar TET postponed

The postponement of the Bihar TET adds to the recent wave of exam disruptions across the country, following incidents of paper leaks in other major examinations. The Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, confirmed on June 20 that the UGC-NET exam had been cancelled due to a question paper leak via the darknet. Similarly, the CSIR-UGC-NET exam, slated between June 25 and 27, was also deferred by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for similar reasons, as communicated through a notification on June 21.

Meanwhile, the NTA has issued admit cards for the re-examination of 1,563 candidates for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG), scheduled for June 23. These candidates were previously granted grace marks due to time lost during the initial examination held on May 5.

Authorities from the NTA and the Union Education Ministry will oversee the NEET-UG re-examination, with preparations including the establishment of six new examination centres to accommodate students effectively.

The postponement of Bihar TET underscores growing concerns over examination integrity and security, prompting heightened vigilance and preventive measures by educational authorities nationwide.
