Hemant Soren arrest: In the wake of the arrest of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader Hemant Soren, a crucial figure in the INDIA bloc, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge alleged 'political vendetta' by Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Kharge took to social media platform X to launch scathing allegations against the BJP government.

Expressing his discontent, Kharge posted, "The one who did not go with Modi ji will go to jail. Imposing ED against Jharkhand Chief Minister, Shri Hemant Soren, and forcing him to resign is a blow to Federalism."

Alleged Misuse of PMLA

Kharge went on to accuse the BJP of employing draconian measures, stating, "Intimidating opposition leaders by making the provisions of PMLA draconian is part of the BJP's tool kit. The BJP's work of destabilizing the opposition governments one by one as part of a conspiracy is continuing."

BJP's Political Maneuvering

The Congress President questioned the BJP's motives, saying, "What went into the BJP's washing machine is clean as white, what didn't go is tainted? If democracy has to be saved from dictatorship then BJP will have to be defeated."

Rahul Gandhi Lashes Out at BJP

Congress leader also took to X to lash out at the 'undemocratic' practices by the BJP. He wrote, "ED, CBI, IT etc. are no longer government agencies, now they have become BJP's 'eliminate opposition cell'. The BJP itself, steeped in corruption, is running a campaign to destroy democracy in its obsession with power."

Champai Soren: The Next in Line

Following Hemant Soren's resignation as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand amidst the ongoing Enforcement Directorate probe into an alleged land scam, Champai Soren is poised to step into the leadership role.

Defiant Stand

Kharge concluded his social media post with a defiant stance, "We will not be afraid, will continue to fight from Parliament to the streets."

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge's social media outburst sheds light on the alleged political vendetta surrounding Hemant Soren's arrest, as Champai Soren prepares to assume the mantle of Jharkhand's Chief Minister.
