Amethi Murder Case: In a shocking development that surfaced in the Amethi murder case, where a Dalit teacher and his family were brutally murdered. The crime has now been linked to an extramarital affair, with fresh details pointing to a violent confrontation that ultimately led to the deaths.
The incident occurred on Thursday night in the Shivratanganj area of Amethi, where Sunil, a government school teacher, his wife Poonam, and their two young daughters were found dead under suspicious circumstances.
According to reports, Chandan Verma, the prime suspect, was involved in an illicit relationship with Sunil's wife, Poonam. Evidence, including screenshots of video chats between the two, has emerged, shedding light on the relationship that allegedly sparked the tragic event.
Sunil reportedly caught Poonam and Chandan in a compromising situation, which led to a heated altercation. In a fit of rage, Sunil assaulted his wife and warned her to end the affair. A scuffle ensued between Sunil and Chandan during the confrontation. Following this, under pressure from Sunil, Poonam lodged a formal complaint against Chandan.

Shortly before the murders, Chandan had posted a threatening WhatsApp status, claiming he would kill five people. Despite Poonam’s attempts to cut ties, Chandan became increasingly aggressive, demanding that the relationship continue. It has been reported that Chandan even gave money to Poonam's children during a recent visit, further highlighting his continued involvement with the family.
Chandan and his family have since disappeared, locking their home in Raebareli and leaving authorities scrambling for clues. Their sudden disappearance has sparked alarm, and police are intensifying their search.
Adding to the chilling sequence of events, it was revealed that Chandan visited Ahorwa Bhawani Mata Temple, located just 200 meters from Sunil's house, shortly before committing the murders.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took immediate cognisance of the incident, expressing his sorrow over the tragic loss. He extended his condolences to the victims' families and assured them that strict action would be taken against those responsible. Adityanath has also instructed officials to visit the crime scene and ensure swift justice.
