New Delhi: In a shocking incident that has sparked outrage, a private ambulance carrying a critically ill five-month-old baby in Bengaluru was chased, stopped, and its driver assaulted by a group of inebriated men near the Nelamangala toll plaza on Sunday night.

The ambulance, transporting the baby who required oxygen, was reportedly speeding towards Vani Vilas Hospital in Bengaluru from a private hospital in Tumakuru. However, the accused, enraged by the ambulance's speed, engaged in a reckless pursuit that lasted for six kilometers. Their rage culminated in a brutal attack on the driver, completely disregarding the pleas of the child's parents who desperately begged for the ambulance to be allowed to continue its journey.

Police intervention and child's critical condition

Thankfully, the police intervened promptly, apprehending the attackers and ensuring the safe passage of the ambulance to the hospital. The child's condition remains critical, highlighting the devastating consequences of such senseless acts.
