As the countdown begins for Chandrayaan-3 to make a soft landing on the moon’s surface today evening, the team of sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has extended best wishes with his latest artwork.
India’s Moon Mission- Chandrayaan-3’s lander Vikram and rover Pragyan – is scheduled to make a touchdown near the lunar south pole at 6.04 pm on August 23.
The sand art by Pattnaik shows Chandrayaan-3 making a successful landing on Moon’s south pole with an Indian flag placed there. “All the best Chandrayaan” is also written on the base of the art, while at the top left one can see “Jay Ho ISRO” written.
The hopes are high for Chandrayaan-3 to touch down the lunar surface today, which will then make India the fourth country in the world to achieve this feat after the United States, Russia, and China, but India will be the only country in the world to land on the lunar south pole.
Meanwhile, the live telecast of the landing operations will begin at 5:20 PM IST on Wednesday. It will be available on the ISRO website, its YouTube channel, Facebook, and public broadcaster DD National TV from 5:27 PM IST on Aug 23, 2023.
