New Delhi: In a harrowing incident in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, an alcoholic husband murdered his wife and locked their children in a room. Asif, the husband, fled the scene, leaving the children in distress.
Alarmed by the children's cries, neighbours rushed to the house. They were horrified to find Hina's lifeless body. The police quickly arrived, taking the body for postmortem. A dog squad and forensic team examined the scene, collecting crucial evidence.
Asif and Hina were married for six years and were living in the Purva Kotwali area of Unnao district in Uttar Pradesh. Asif was a drug addict and often caused disturbances, forcing Hina to stay with her parents. Recently, the police mediated a reconciliation following which Hina returned to Asif last Thursday.
That night, Asif came home drunk. Hina protested, leading to a violent altercation between the two. In a rageful retaliation, Asif locked their children in a room and strangled Hina to death. He then fled, leaving the children traumatised.

Hina's mother has filed a formal complaint, resulting in an FIR under murder charges. The police are working tirelessly to bring Asif to justice. This tragic event has cast a sombre mood over the community, highlighting the devastating impact of domestic violence.
