Akhilesh Yadav, the Samajwadi Party chief on Monday said that he will join ‘Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra’ only after Congress finalizes the seat sharing plan. While speaking to ANI, Yadav said, "Right now talks are going on, lists have come from them, we have also given them the list. The moment, seat distribution is done, Samajwadi Party will join their Nyaya Yatra..."

Before this, Yadav also informed one of the media houses that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is adamant on some of the names and seats, which is causing delay in the process.

Notably, the Samajwadi Party and the Congress are partners in the INDIA bloc. The success of the seat sharing talks between the two are crucial, especially after the failure of similar talks with Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of West Bengal, who has decided to go solo in the state.

AAP Punjab has also announced that they will contest the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 alone.

Speaking about the significance of upcoming Lok Sabha Elections, the Samajwadi Party chief said that the 2024 elections are significant. It is the election to save the constitution and save the future of the country and Ganga- Yamuni Tehzeeb, to save fraternity.

It is to be noted here that the Samajwadi Party Chief had accepted the invitation from Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge to join the Yatra saying that he would participate in the Yatra in Amethi or Rae Bareli.

However, with no progress being made on the seat sharing talks between the two parties yet.
