The central government has convened an all-party meeting today (July 19) to deliberate on a host of issues related to the upcoming Monsoon session of Parliament, which will begin on July 20.

Centre holds an all-party meeting today

This meeting is said to be a customary get-together on the eve of the session’s commencement, which will open gates for various aspects and parties to put their issues at the meeting attended by senior ministers. Even, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also participated in many such meetings.

On Tuesday, a similar gathering was called by Rajya Sabha Chairperson Jagdeep Dhankar has been deferred amid the non-availability of leaders of many parties as the opposition parties were holding a brain-storming session in Bengaluru against the ruling BJP, while in the national capital, the NDA (National Democratic Alliance) were meeting against them for the upcoming Lok Sabha election.

However, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh managed to hold a meeting with some of his cabinet members, including Pralhad Joshi (Parliamentary Affairs Minister) and Piyush Goyal ( Leader of the House in Rajya Sabha).

According to the media reports, it was in connection with the all-party meeting called by the centre as they gave the final touches to its point of view.

Opposition vs BJP in Parliament’s Monsoon session

It will be interesting to witness BJP and opposition parties during the Parliament’s Monsoon sessions, as both sides are doing fierce attacks on one another to gear up for a host of assembly polls this year and the Lok Sabha election next year. So, the session is expected to be stormy. ‘

Opposition parties including Congress are constantly attacking the BJP-led central government over the Manipur crisis besides the issues of price rise and alleged misuse of probe agencies.

The last session was also marred by frequent opposition protests.
