New Delhi: In a incident involving a high-speed car crashed into the Haldiram restaurant at Sanjay Place, Agra, in the early hours of Monday. The car, moving at an alarming speed, climbed five steps before colliding with the restaurant's entrance. The driver sustained injuries in the accident, but the deployment of airbags saved his life. Authorities were alerted and quickly arrived at the scene.

Video of the crashed car surfaces on social media

The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. on Monday. The car, a black KIA with registration number UP 80 GC 5051, was reportedly traveling at high speed. The vehicle is said to belong to Gaurav Mittal, a resident of Bagh Farzana. A security guard stationed outside the restaurant recounted hearing an extremely loud noise just before the crash.

According to the guard, the car ascended the stairs, shattered the restaurant's glass door, and ended up inside the premises. The noise from the impact was deafening, and the car itself sustained significant damage.

The speed of the vehicle at the time of the crash was reportedly very high.

Driver suffers serious injuries

The driver suffered a head injury, with blood visibly flowing. Fortunately, the airbags deployed, preventing more serious harm. Police, upon receiving the report, reached the scene promptly. It is believed that the driver was intoxicated and lost control of the vehicle due to the influence of alcohol, leading to the crash. The injured driver has been admitted to the hospital for treatment.
