Crime News: A harrowing incident has come to light in Agra, where a female engineering student was allegedly raped by a senior student from the same college. The accused, Shivang Singh, is currently on the run. Police have launched an extensive manhunt.

According to the complaint filed by the victim, Singh, a senior from her institution and a resident of Ghazipur, arranged to meet her on the evening of August 10 in the Sikandra area. Once they met, Singh allegedly forced her into his car. Inside the vehicle, he tied her hands, drew a curtain between the back seat and the driver, and covered the windows to ensure no one could see inside.

Despite her desperate pleas and attempts to scream for help, Singh allegedly threatened to kill her if she resisted and then proceeded to rape her. After committing the crime, Singh reportedly abandoned her by the roadside before fleeing the scene.

Police investigation underway

The traumatized victim managed to reach her residence and filed a police complaint the following day. The Agra police have since launched an investigation and are actively searching for the accused. Singh, however, claims to have been at IIT Jammu and Kashmir for the past 10 days and denies being in Agra during the incident. Authorities are conducting a thorough review of CCTV footage to verify his whereabouts.

Community demands justice

The case has ignited widespread outrage in Agra, with local residents and activists demanding swift justice for the victim. The incident has raised serious concerns about student safety and the need for stronger measures to prevent such heinous crimes.
